Communication and media promotion strategy for the premiere of 'Pots ser tu, puc ser jo'
Enraona Teatre, a social, therapeutic, pedagogical, and inclusive theater company and school, approached Maco&Co with the goal of promoting "Pots ser tu, puc ser jo" in the media. This was the company's first production, performed at Teatro del Raval and directed by Joan Lluís Bozzo, who is also director of the theater company.
The play seeks to break the wall of silence surrounding mental health and give visibility to those living with it. Created with this purpose, "Pots ser tu, puc ser jo" tells the story of two teenagers and their mothers through scenes based on real events. Each performance featured a post-show discussion moderated by psychologists from the ITA Canet Eating Disorder and Mental Health Treatment Center and psychologist Nuria Reig, inviting the audience to speak openly about the illness.
A media plan was designed targeting cultural, generalist, and health sector outlets. On May 6th, a press conference was organized to present the production prior to its premiere on May 19th at Teatro del Raval. Additionally, media interviews were coordinated, mostly featuring Maria, the protagonist whose personal story inspired much of the play, and director Joan Lluís Bozzo.
Media coverage led to sold-out performances across all dates, including the final show on June 30th. Coverage spanned news agencies such as Europa Press, local media like El Nacional and El Punt, radio stations including Catalunya Radio, Rac1, and RNE, as well as regional and local television networks such as Betevé and TV3, among others.
Following this success, Enraona Teatre plans to return in September for a second season, having already signed agreements for performances in several Barcelona venues and scheduled media interviews to announce updates.
